Comments:

I would like to learn about how to re-architect our current enterprise software with JaveEE6 so that it becomes lighter (in size), easier (to develop, support) and faster (to deploy).

1) I would like to learn more about hybrid (OSGi/EE) apps in the Glassfish environment, combining both worlds.

2) I would love to win a copy because books are like a drug, and great Java EE 6/Glassfish books are hard to come by!

From this book I'd expect to learn what's new or changed in EE6 compared to EE5, how those APIs mix together.
Not forgetting troubleshooting guidelines.

I prefer paperbacks, better for commuting through wild areas.

Hi and thank you for this contest !!
I would love to have this book because JEE doesn't make sense to me right now and i just can't get my head around Glassfish v3 behaviour !

I mean, i know there's a lot of history behind all those decisions but as a J2SE dev and Python/PHP Web dev, i haven't found the right to tell me the whole story.

So i would like to learn from this book how to make great, scalable web applications using Java in (almost) a perfectly clean and easy way !

Thank you for your time and once again good work.

Olivier.

I would like to learn how to use EJB vs. CDI. How you mix annotations for JPA, JAXB, JAX-RS ... on a same object. Also how to architecture to test.

A free paperback copy would give me the chance to take the time for a clean (re)start in Java EE.

Regards
Bruno

Thanks for this change, my time to try it ;).

1. What would you like to learn from the book?
I have read and tried some tutorials about GlashFish and openSSO (openAM), but I want to understand the full potential of GlashFish in combination with openSSO.

2. Why would you like to win a copy of the book?
Where I'm currently working, we are looking for 'open minded' software that can replace our application server and single sign on application. And this would be a great opportunity for me to introduce GlashFish.

1. I would like to learn how to develop JAX-RS and JAX-WS using GF3. Ideally also get some more information about OSGi development and GF3 potential.
2. It could be my chance to get finally full-scale J2EE knowledge in relation to GF3 development.

I would like to learn how to setup and configure GlassFish so I can replace tomcat.

i'd love to win a copy of the book so i can learn more about a technology that i have not used yet (more into PHP at the moment). Heard/read lots of good things about Java EE6 and Glassfish in podcasts, conferences, blogs, tweets.

1. I would be looking for details and new ideas on how to effectively combine the new specifications to a greater whole. Get more insight what another spec reader (namely the Author) finds useful and exciting.

2. To read and use. And possibly to give away to someone aspiring.

ps. favouring hardcover for hard use.

1) As a Spring user I'd like to learn what's happening on the other side of the fence and spread my view.

2) I've just moved in with my girlfriend and we're about to buy some new bookshelves, I need something to fill them with otherwise she'll do it with some "decorative" objects.

Description above looks pretty spot on. I would like to learn the main differences between the technologies listed above and earlier versions, as well as fairly detailed examples/descriptions of the listed technologies.

1. What would you like to learn from the book?

i'm currently using JEE5/Seam for developing web applications. I want to know more about JEE6 because it supposed that was highly influenced by Seam. So a lot of Seam's features are included already. I have seen a couple of presentation slides about JEE6 and I really want to learn about this "new" technology. It looks like JEE6 has done its way as it always should have been done (specially for JSF).

2. Why would you like to win a copy of the book?

Honestly, because I LOVE books.

I am mainly interested to learn the new features of EJB 3.1 as well as CDI.

Hi David,

Congratulations on the publication of your book. I've written a book (http://tinyurl.com/am12wad) myself, so I know it is a huge accomplishment!

I'm very curious about your book. I would like to learn from this book why I should switch from Java EE 5 to Java EE 6 on my next project. It would also be nice to learn some arguments that I can use to convince my clients to use Glassfish.

Best regards,
Bart

I'm eager to learn more about JEE 6 and get up to speed with it. GlassFish ? Never used it before, but hey it seems to be highly regarded.

Maybe it's time to give Spring, Seam and JBoss AS a rest and try something new..

I'd like to learn that technology from the professional and rational perspective, with production-ready examples, which I could use to run my new business as well to share knowledge for those, who start working with Java - to help them decide, which platform to choose.

Currently working with Glassfish 2 for 1,5 year for cryptographic webservice development and deployment, I'd like to learn more about the JPA features, JavaMail and some Cup of EETricks ;)

EETricks - feel free to use that.

Charles from Poland

p.s. Reading using PDF format suits me well.
